From start to finish, it was outstanding — and a huge part of that was our guide, Helen. Sharp, deeply knowledgeable, genuinely passionate, and able to talk whisky without a hint of script or fluff. This wasn’t a rehearsed tour; it felt like a proper conversation with someone who lives the distillery. Thanks to her, I rediscovered Auchentoshan with fresh eyes — and a fresh palate. The drams? Absolutely fabulous. Serious quality, thoughtfully chosen, and poured with generosity. This is not a “tour tasting” — this is a proper whisky experience. Elegant Lowland spirit, beautifully presented, and tasted in a way that actually lets you understand what Auchentoshan is about. Add to that a great distillery shop, a relaxed atmosphere, and zero sense of being rushed, and you get an experience that stays with you long after the last sip. “We visited Auchentoshan today and enjoyed The Origin Tour in the company of a fantastic guide, Brian. Despite the distillery being in an extended silent season due to maintenance requirements, Brian made it a really enjoyable and funny experience with his anecdotes and humour. The hot toddy at the start of the tour was a lovely surprise on what was a chilly afternoon, and there were two great drams to sample at the end. What a great distillery, and great whiskies too!”

“Excellent tour from Mahj from Madeira who deconstructed the 3 wood process in great detail and made us feel welcome throughout the tour. The samples were also generous and delicious. If you haven't been to Auchentoshan then book a tour - it's a fantastic experience.”
