The Experience

About this tour

Sample four world-class Tamdhu single casks, handpicked by Sandy McIntyre, Distillery Manager, to showcase our Spain-to-Speyside sherry maturation story. Understand the flavour and each cask’s role and learn the hidden art of the blender before creating your own unique, one-of-one Tamdhu Highland Single Malt Whisky. This is a rare and insightful opportunity to experience the inner workings of the whisky industry.

Begin your immersive experience with an exploration of malt whisky production as we guide you through the mashing, fermentation, and distillation processes inside the world-class Rosebank Distillery. Appreciate the bricks and mortar of this reawakened distillery from washback's to copper stills before delving into a truly unique whisky experience. Our gaze now shifts north as we focus firmly on the treasured Oloroso sherry casks. Sample the carefully crafted Tamdhu New Make Spirit before discovering how hand-selected, rare casks sourced from Spain’s finest bodegas impart their deep, rich flavours and vibrant hue to our Tamdhu whisky. You will be guided through four specially selected Tamdhu single cask samples, each showcasing their own version of Tamdhu’s deep, rich spirit character, before blending your bespoke 20cl creation to take home. This personalised memento not only embodies your unique taste but also serves as a treasured keepsake of your experience.

The Distillery

About Rosebank Distillery

Rosebank Distillery

Rosebank fired into life in 1840 on the banks of the Forth & Clyde canal, just west of Falkirk in the heart of the Lowlands. The distillery was founded by James Rankine, a local wine merchant, and within forty years the Rankines were shipping their whisky half way around the world to Australia …

Ian McLeod bought the mothballed distillery after it had been closed for decades and painstakingly restored it to beyond its former glory. It is now reopened for whisky lovers to enjoy.
